Original articles by Eugine Field, William Matthews and many others with numerous illustrations in colour, etchings, wood engravings and decorative borders by Henriot, Robida and others.
Articles include ‘Enemies of Books not Mentioned by Blades’, Of the Extra Illustration of Books’, ‘Suggestions How to Bind our Books’, ‘The Evolution of a Bibliophile’, ‘A True Book Lover’, ‘Books of Emblems’ The illustrations are a mixture of the humorous and serious.
These publications are extremely charming and evocative of an era. Attractive, and, if I may say, scarce as a complete set.
They are from the library of Holbrook Jackson, though there is no physical proof of this so the price does not reflect it.
