Special Edition – copy S of twenty six lettered copies which have, contained in a portfolio, proofs of each of the wood-engravings by Harry Brockway together with one that does not appear in the book. Signed by Brockway.
8vo. (book & portfolio each 270x155x12mm), quarter red leather over Brockway designed patterned paper sides, 19 wood-engravings including full page frontispiece plus 2 small vignettes, teg and 2 deckle edges. Extra suite of engravings with tissue linings housed in a similarly bound portfolio. Contained in a raw silk slip case with an engraving mounted on the front.
This copy has a 2 sided hand written letter from Harry Brockway on his letter headed paper. It is a response to an enquiry about which books he has illustrated and he mentions that he would like to do more with private press publications.
