Large quarto (355x230x60mm.), [A1-A6],[a1-c6], 822pp., Index 44pp., engraved pictorial frontispiece featuring several figures from different eras, contemporary full calf neatly rebacked incorporating original titling label, p269 has a transparent tissue repair across the text, very good.
Each king’s entry has paragraphs on such subjects as taxation, piety and the church, casualties happening, his wife and issue, personage and conditions, men of note in his time, etc.
A useful work even though possibly not 100% accurate always.
