Junker starts off by saying “ .…..by them {Nachtigal, Rohlfs,Schweinfurth} my direction was directed towards Dar-For, a region at that time presenting geographical interests of the first importance. I accordingly selected as the goal of my future activity this land still shrouded in the veil of an awe inspiring mystery.”
