Quarto, (265x200x20mm. each), 165/480 copies, numerous wood engravings by David Jones, some coloured, original cream linen spine and foredge, black paper sides, spines faded with the linen slightly grubby and some scuffs to paper sides, foxing to endpapers and some foxing and browning to margins, initials on ffe, some pages uncut, a good copy nonetheless.
The very fine Robert Gibings tenure of The Golden Cockerel who collaborated well with David Jones in the latter’s first outing. The illustrations fit beautifully with the text.
